The regeneration movement has certainly taken hold in recent years with King's Cross being the latest area primed for renewal and it is predicted to absorb a vast number of new corporate residents; a far cry from the area’s desolate poverty-stricken past.
With Eurostar links, six Underground lines, three national mainline stations, various shopping outlets, galleries, cultural venues, bars, restaurants, homes and schools, its geographical positioning in the north of London also offers vast expansive spaces.
The new King's Cross area provides companies and office workers with 3.4 million sq.ft. of workspace, plus 19 new buildings have attracted big corporations such as Google, Louis Vuitton and The Guardian Group.
Google, the world’s most popular search engine, has chosen to place its new UK headquarters at the new King's Cross site in King’s Boulevard.
Leading luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, has chosen to leave behind the bright lights of the West End, opting instead for the revitalised contemporary scene on offer. The French fashion powerhouse is the first to inhabit the GridIron building at One Pancras Square.
In a statement move, media group Guardian News & Media made King's Cross their new headquarters, leaving the Farringdon area where they had been based since 1976.
Luxury food supplier and tea salon, Fortnum & Mason, has opened its first new store in the UK in more than 300 years at London’s St Pancras International station, comprising approximately 2,150 sq. ft.
