Things to Do in London this Spring

30th March 2017

The wait is over – spring is finally here! Here’s a glance at the must-see events and best places to explore in London to capture your imagination this season.

Enjoy a Brunch with a River View

First things first, head to the Docklands for a delicious brunch coupled with a delightful view of the River Thames. Nothing says spring like Eggs Florentine and a glass of Buck’s Fizz. Check out the top spots to head to with our guide to brunch in the Docklands, from traditional English dishes at Tom’s Kitchen to unique, oriental flavours available at ROKA.

Head to the West End for your Spring Wardrobe

Now that spring is here it is definitely time for a new wardrobe! Pack the winter coats away and head into the West End for spring jackets and floral vibes available at a variety of High Street and designer stores. From Liberty to Selfridges, and Harvey Nichols to Harrods, you’re bound to find some signature spring garments.

Be an Onlooker at an Unmissable Event

One of the most anticipated spring events in the capital is the London Marathon, which will take place this year on Sunday 23rd April. Even if you’re not running, thousands of spectators turn up on the day to show support from the side-lines for what’s considered one of the biggest parties of the year. Another unmissable sporting spectacle is the annual UK Boat Race on Sunday 2nd April, where Oxford and Cambridge will go head-to-head in one of London’s oldest and most prestigious sporting events.

Watch a Theatre Show in the Sun

This April, Shakespeare’s Globe is welcoming the spring with its first open-air productions of 2017, kicking off with the timeless ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Check out other top Shakespeare spots to explore in the capital with our essential guide.

Get your Caffeine Kick at the London Coffee Festival

Coffee-lovers should no doubt head to the hipster capital of Shoreditch for this year’s coffee festival, held from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th April, where guests can browse more than 250 artisan coffee and gourmet food stalls, take lessons from award-winning baristas, taste coffee-infused cocktails and so much more. Take a look at the best coffee shops in Shoreditch here.

Take a Spring Stroll

Watch London’s parkland come to life with a spring stroll, from the magnificent Royal Parks including Hyde Park and Regent’s Park, to more quaint and intimate settings such as Soho Square Gardens (pictured) and the idyllic poet’s corner, Bloomsbury Square.

Finish with Drinks at your Favourite Rooftop Bar

Head to one of London’s exclusive rooftop bars for a signature cocktail with the city skyline as your backdrop to round off a perfect day in the capital. There’s Sushi Samba’s Tree Bar in the City on the 38th floor of the Heron Tower, or the Aqua Shard’s atrium bar in London Bridge for a swanky, low-lit ambience accompanied by one of the best views in the capital.
