We Now Offer “Help to Buy”.

An overview of the new governement scheme designed for first time buyers

You can now purchase a brand new Galliard Home with a deposit as small as 5%. For only £17,000 down you could be moving into a brand new one bedroom waterfront apartment in the Royal Borough of Greenwich*.

How does “Help to Buy” work?

“Help to Buy” is a new government-backed initiative targeted to offer help to first time buyers and those looking to move up the property ladder, a scheme where you can now purchase a property with a 5% deposit. 

You put down the 5% deposit and the government then provides you with an additional 20% by way of a “Help to Buy Equity Loan”. A “Help to Buy Equity Loan” loan is interest-free for the first 5 years after which interest is charged at 1.75% pa, increasing each year by RPI (Retail Price Index) + 1%.

The balance of 75% is made up by way of a bank or building society mortgage. The maximum purchase price of your new Galliard Home is £600,000.

When you sell your home (unless you have chosen to repay your “Help to Buy Equity Loan” earlier), you must repay the 20% from the sale proceeds.

Am I eligible for “Help to Buy”?

“Help to Buy” is open to all buyers seeking a new build home.

To qualify for the “Help to Buy” you must be able to fund up to 80% of the purchase price through a conventional repayment mortgage, interest-only mortgages are not permitted.

The property must be your only residence, “Help to Buy” is not available to Buy-to-Let investors or those who will own another property in the future. You may not rent out your existing property and purchase a second home through “Help to Buy”.
